Wisconsin October 2012 Housing Statistics

The Wisconsin housing statistics are now in for October of 2012. Here is an excerpt from what the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) had to say:

“There is no doubt that October was a very strong month for sales, which followed a more moderate pace of growth in September, so it may be that some of the sales typically seen in September spilled over into October this year,"  said Renny Diedrich, chairman of the WRA board of directors. She noted that the pace of growth in September was 6.1 percent, but that the combined sales of September and October were up 17 percent compared to those same months in 2011.

“While it’s tempting to focus on the magnitude of the increase last month, I think the more important point is that prices have been consistently increasing since March of this year,” said WRA President and CEO, Michael Theo.

Below are the number of Home Sales and Median House Prices for the state of Wisconsin, Rock County, and Dane County. These stats include Janesville and Madison. That was still the case in October 2012. Although statewide, home prices have increased, in Dane & Rock counties, they are still decreasing in price.
