Wisconsin September 2012 Housing Statistics


Counties of WIThe Wisconsin housing statistics are now in for September of 2012. Here is an excerpt from what the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) had to say:
“Although the state housing market continues to grow, the growth in September was more modest than the first eight months of the year where home sales increased 21.3 percent”  said Renny Diedrich, chairman of the WRA board of directors. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics household survey, Wisconsin’s employment levels have increased every month since August 2010 compared to the same month in the previous year, but that growth has typically been below 1 percent.
“We have seen median prices up now for seven straight months, and year to date, they have grown 1.1 percent.” said WRA President and CEO, Michael Theo.
Below are the number of Home Sales and Median House Prices for the state of Wisconsin, Rock County, and Dane County. These stats include Janesville and Madison. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions pertaining to these figures. As you probably have heard, home sales have been increasing substantially all year. This is the first report in some time where Dane County, Rock County and the entire state of Wisconsin all showed increases in the number of sales as well as home prices. What a great sign of recovery!

    Thanks for posting this Michael, I am interested in finding some statistics for my town. My wife and I are looking for some real estate in the St. Johns area, and I was wondering if you know anything about the market there? Any feedback would be really appreciated.
